This recipe is for THE BEST AIR FRYER CHICKEN WINGS. Using an Air Fryer is a great way to prepare wings without all the mess of deep frying or a long oven cook time, although this recipe calls for a short oven duration at the end of cooking them. It is important to note that cooking times may vary depending on size and number of wings you are cooking. You may need to do several batches depending on the size of your Air Fryer.
WHY MAKE CHICKEN WINGS IN THE AIR FRYER? This recipe creates a Chicken Wing that is crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. There is no breading required in this recipe for Chicken Wings, which makes this a Gluten-Free and Low Carb meal. If you haven’t tried wings in the Air Fryer yet, give it a try. This is a great way to make wings that taste deep fried without using a lot of oil.
INGREDIENTS YOU WILL NEED
- CHICKEN WINGS- BONE IN
- Frank’s RedHot Wings Buffalo sauce
- Texas Pete Original Dust Dry Seasoning
- Salt
- Pepper
- Non-stick cooking spray
HOW TO AIR FRY CHICKEN WINGS
- Rinse the wings and pat dry
- Cover both sides with salt, pepper and the Texas Pete original dust seasoning. Coat both sides evenly. The more you use of the Texas Pete dust, the hotter they will be!
- Spray Air Fryer basket with non-stick cooking spray.
- Place wings in the air fryer basket – be sure not to overcrowd the basket, you may need to do several batches. I usually use larger wings which allows me to cook six at a time.
- Pre Heat your regular oven to 400 degrees (This will be used for several minutes at the end of cooking time)
- Cook in the Air Fryer on 400 for approximately 20-25 minutes. Be sure to shake the basket and rearrange the wings often, this will help them to cook evenly and to reach your desired crispiness.
- IF YOU ARE USING SMALLER WINGS YOUR COOK TIME WILL BE SHORTENED
- CHICKEN SHOULD BE COOKED TO A MINIMUM INTERNAL TEMPERATURE OF 165 DEGREES FAHRENHEIT
- Once wings are finished cooking place them in a cast iron skillet or any oven safe dish.
- Using a Basting Brush coat both sides evenly with the Frank’s RedHot wing’s buffalo sauce.
- Finish cooking in oven for 5 minutes
- Serve with Ranch and/or your favorite dipping sauce.
