This Apple Butter Bread is sure to be a hit for all your family and friends this season. My kids love it so much, they ask to pack it in their lunch everyday.
It is a great way to use up extra apple butter that you may have in your fridge or pantry. We make apple butter in the fall and always have lots of it. It is such a fun family tradition.
This bread is very easy to make and stores great in the refrigerator. It would be perfect to give out as gifts this Christmas season.
Ingredient List:
1/2 cup Butter room temperature
1 cup Sugar
4 Eggs , beaten
2 1/2 cups All purpose flour
1 1/2 teaspoons Baking Soda
1/2 teaspoon Salt
1 tablespoon Cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon Nutmeg
1/2 teaspoon Cloves
1 cup sour milk or buttermilk- I make my own by mixing 1 tablespoon of white distilled vinegar into a cup of whole milk.
1 cup Apple Butter
TIPS: If bread starts to brown too much on top you can gently place a piece of aluminum foil to cover.
TOOLS YOU MAY NEED:
Large Mixing Bowl or Stand Mixer
Measuring cups and spoons
Bread pan 5x9x4
HOW TO MAKE APPLE BUTTER BREAD
preheat oven to 350 degrees
cream butter
add sugar and cream until fluffy
add beaten eggs and mix thoroughly
sift flour into a separate bowl and mix in the salt and spices
add flour mixture alternately with the milk into the mixture in the mixing bowl
add apple butter and blend well
pour into a greased loaf pan and bake for 45-50 minutes at 350 degrees- different ovens will vary in cooking time.
remember if it’s starts getting too brown on top, then cover with aluminum foil
when bread it done baking take out of oven and let cool 10 minutes before taking out of loaf pan.
Let cool for at least 1 hour
